Top: Girls
Polo shirts only – long or short sleeved – No more than 3 or 4 buttons. Polo shirts must be solid navy, white or gold only. No hoodie shirts, sweatshirts, or sweaters. MCHS Exceptions: Students are allowed to wear the navy blue and white official MCHS uniform T-shirts which are sold at the school. The CURRENT YEAR’S Spirit, Club, and Organization shirts are worn only on Friday. Please note: No trims or stripes. No shades of blue. No cap-type sleeves. All shirts must be tucked in (both boys and girls). Maternity clothes must be in designated colors (Navy, Gold, or White) and conform to the school uniform policy.
Bottom: Girls
Only solid khaki or solid navy twill pants or shorts are allowed. Long pants, capris or shorts are allowed. Pants must be hemmed. Please note: No wind pants, corduroy, denim, stretch, spandex, fleece, sweatpants, or leggings. No over-all pants/shorts. No sagging, baggy, or oversized pants/shorts. Pants and shorts must fit. Length must meet the County Dress Code Policy (No more than 3" above the knee for grades 4-12.) Only solid Khaki or solid Navy twill skirts or jumpers are allowed. Length must meet the County Board Dress Code Policy of no more than 3 inches above the knee for grades 4 – 12. Shirts worn under jumpers must be polo style (Navy, Gold, or White) only. No corduroy, denim, stretch, spandex, or fleece.
Top: Boys

Belt
Belts must be worn.
Shoes
Shoes must be worn at all times and fastened or laced properly. Tennis shoes are required. Shoes must be worn with blue, black or white socks or black, navy or white tights. No FLIP-FLOPS, shower shoes, bedroom slippers, scuffs, or cleats may be worn.
Outerwear
School Jackets are encouraged. Solid navy or khaki “windbreaker” type jacket is required. Please Note: No hoodies. No trims, stripes or mixed colored jackets. No shirt should be worn as a jacket. No denim, stretch or spandex. No fur, leather or suede. New school jackets must not have hoods. Exceptions for MCHS Only: Athletic lettermen jackets, School Team jackets, and Band jackets will be allowed. School ONLY sweatshirts and sweaters. Sweaters must be solid Navy, Gold, or White only (this includes Pullovers and vests) Collar of the shirt must be visible when wearing sweater/vest.
Additional Notes
In cold weather, solid gold, solid navy, or solid white turtlenecks can be worn under long-sleeve polo shirts and/or solid navy or solid khaki sweaters. A polo shirt must be worn when sweaters or turtlenecks are worn. The collar of the uniform shirt must be visible when wearing a sweater or turtleneck. Undershirts may be worn under uniform shirts and must be solid white, solid gold, or solid navy. Undershirts may be long or short sleeved. Male students may not wear earrings. Nose rings/any other visible body piercing rings/studs may not be worn. Belts must be appropriately fastened at the waistline (with excess looped). Sunglasses may not be worn in buildings. Hats/other head coverings will not be worn in buildings. IN THE EVENT THAT A STUDENT’S DRESS IS IN QUESTION, THE FINAL DECISION WILL BE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE PRINCIPAL/DESIGNEE. If you have any questions about any part of this dress code, please call your child’s school before you purchase. ON “OUT OF UNIFORM DAYS,” THE MONROE COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM DRESS CODE MUST BE FOLLOWED.
